The cavity backed head of the S9 has been constructed from durable 431 Stainless Steel. Different materials have then been added into the design to give extra performance.
The top edge of the S9 irons has been made from a 3-piece Polymer insert. This is lighter than Steel and has allowed 13 grams of weight to be moved lower in the club for a lower centre of gravity to help get the ball in the air from any lie.
Urethane inserts are added into the back of the cavity and the sole. This allows extra weight to be moved into the heel and toe areas, creating a larger sweetspot and more forgiveness.
The Cobra plate in the back of the cavity works in conjunction with the Urethane insert to dampen vibration to improve feel.
The multi-material design of the S9 iron gives a higher Moment Of Inertia (MOI), giving less clubhead twisting on off centre strikes for improved accuracy.
